Israeli women decorate sacred trees with their panties

Any woman would do anything to have a smart, handsome and well-to-do husband. Israel’s sacred places' guards often see a strange ritual. Israeli women who go on pilgrimage to the grave of the Jewish Rabbi Yenothan ben Uziel tie their panties and bras to the grates of the burial-vault and to the nearby trees. They believe this will help them find good husbands in the future.

During the last few weeks the guards have collected more than 400 pieces of underwear. The belief that the blessing of the late righteous man helps to find the right partner didn’t spring yesterday. But until recently women didn't go beyond handkerchiefs.
